Aaliyah: Krant, Netherlands Newspaper, 1995 (Rare)

By Sandy

Repost via @dutchaaliyah "K R A N T 1 9 9 5 (N E W S P A P E R) Can you spot Aaliyah’s name? After my posts about media in the Netherlands on recent radio and tv. Here is a really rare post of Aaliyah’s name mentioned in 2 newspapers in the year 1995. As you can read her very first and only performance in the Netherlands was scheduled on May 6th 1995 in the Basement of @rotterdam.ahoy. They re-scheduled the gig to one day later (no info on that). But in the end, as you already know they re-scheduled it again to Monday the 8th of May. But because the tickets didn’t sell out, cuz Aaliyah was very unknown at that time overhere, they relocated her live performance to @escape_amsterdam. Also special guest and dancehall artist @waynemarsheezy was replaced by @keithmartinmusic. We would love to hear exclusive stories about the short stay in the Netherlands and of the night of her performance.
