What's good everyone? ???? It's been a minute since we've last posted, but we have some exciting news to share with our fellow Aaliyah Nation. If you've been keeping up to date with the latest Aaliyah news, a while ago a petition was made to Induct Aaliyah into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame which you can still sign here. With an outpour and admiration, fans came together and garnered over 7'000+ signatures to show the demand and love devoted by fellow fans. Unfortunately, when Rock Hall made their announcement on February 1st, we came to learn that Aaliyah did not get nominated this year, however as of February 15th it was announced that Aaliyah was nominated for The National R&B Hall Of Fame. (Go Aaliyah! Go Aaliyah! ????)
Remember that you can vote EVERYDAY up until the deadline which is April 24th via https://rbhofvote.com/.
Currently Aaliyah stands in the lead ???? so to all my fellow Team Aaliyah I urge you to continue voting and sharing with everyone you know! Let's make sure Aaliyah stays on top like the Queen that she is. ????
We are truly beyond thrilled and excited since it's been long overdue where Baby Girl has had any acknowledgment for her level of achievements and accolades that she has brought to the table in the R&B world. Aaliyah's sense of flare, style, charisma and trends have always played a pivotal part in shaping what we know modern day R&B music today, and for that alone, shows why she truly deserves to be recognised for it. Throughout Aaliyah's career, she was always ahead of her time be it in fashion or music, where she never once ever followed 'fads' that just came and went, she was the epitome of someone who was never afraid to go against the grain by setting her OWN trends, where simply put, other artists took notice and tried to mimick what Aaliyah had and did, but could never replicate.
Joining the ranks of previous inductees such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye (whom Aaliyah actually sampled in her song 'Got To Give It Up') and Whitney Houston, would be a tremendous honor for Aaliyah. Her nomination serves as a reminder of the profound influence she had on R&B music, as well as her fans and a never ending legacy, of her everlasting impact.
